Forthcoming LSST-related Meetings

Travel support for Rubin Community Workshop 2024 and LSST@Europe 6

There are three significant Rubin/ LSST conferences in the summer, which may attract significant LSST:UK interest. These are:

To help manage potential demand for LSST:UK Pool Travel funding, we are running time-limited calls for both of these events, as follows:

  • To apply for Pool Travel Fund support for the DESC Collaboration Meeting, please submit an application by 4pm UK time on 23rd April.
  • To apply for Pool Travel Funding support for the Rubin Community Workshop, please submit an application by 4pm UK time on Tuesday 16th April.
  • To apply for Pool Travel Funding support for the LSST@Europe6 conference, please submit an application by 4pm UK time on Tuesday 21st May.

Details of how to apply for LSST:UK Pool Travel funding are available on Confluence (https://lsst-uk.atlassian.net/l/cp/EJz57tj9).

We will aim to confirm the outcome of applications to each call within one week of the particular call closing.

It will be possible to apply for funding for these conferences after the deadline, though applications will only be considered if there is budget available.

This page lists information about forthcoming meetings that are likely to be of interest to members of LSST:UK. Similar information can be found on the Rubin Observatory's Events page and on the LSST Corporation's page of activities that it supports. You may also find interesting meeting, events, and workshops posted on the Rubin Community Forum.

The LSST:UK Exec Group updates this page regularly, but anyone wishing to have an LSST-related meeting added to this list is welcome to contact  George Beckett.

LSST:UK operates a Pool Travel Fund that can support UK researchers attending appropriate LSST-related meetings. These funds are awarded by the Exec Group on the basis of the scientific return to the applicant (and the wider LSST:UK community) from their attendance of the particular meeting. Inclusion of a meeting in the list below does not necessarily imply that its prospective attendees would be eligible for support from the Pool Travel Fund, while, conversely, a meeting may still be suitable for support even it is not listed below; the Exec Group will assess each case on its merits, but attendance of meetings directly related to the LSST - e.g., those organised by the Science Collaborations - is much more likely to be supported than participation in more general conferences.
