New-user Introduction

If you are new to the LSST:UK Wiki or to the Confluence service, you should consider taking a little time to get familiar with the setup:

  • Browse the Getting Started documentation (or take the tour that is offered when you first login)
  • Populate your profile (available on the 'Your profile and settings' icon at the top-righr of each page)
  • Take a look at the Site Guidelines
  • Explore the site—click the 'Spaces' icon on the top menu-bar, to navigate to different parts of the site
  • Check your permissions—some spaces, such as the Executive Group and Board spaces, are restricted-access. If you think you should have access to spaces that you don't currently see (or if you think you shouldn't have access to a space you can see), contact one of the Project Managers (George Beckett or Terry Sloan).
  • Select 'People' from the 'Switch Apps' icon on the top menu, to see who else is registered, and start to build a network
  • Subscribe to pages you are interested to track, by clicking the 'Watching' at the top of the relevant page (you can manage your notifications by selecting 'Watches' from the 'Your profile and settings' icon at the top-right of each page)
  • If you need any help, contact George Beckett or Terry Sloan
