Before doing so you should read the LSST:UK Policy for Selection of Affiliate PIs and Junior Associates, which explains the selection process and the criteria that will be used by the Selection Committee. You should also read Articles 4 and 5 of the UK Memorandum of Agreement with LSST Corporation, which define the rights and responsibilities of Affiliate PIs and Junior Associates, as you will be required to agree to their conditions as part of the application process.
Applying for Affiliate PI status
Application Form: You are asked to summarise your relevant track record and to explain why you require, and how you would take advantage of having, Affiliate PI status. Your application should be self-contained; do not assume that the Selection Committee has any information beyond what you include in your application.
Nominating Junior Associates
Nomination Form: Those possessing, or applying for, Affiliate PI status may make up to four nominations for Junior Associate status, for post-doctoral research associates and/ or Ph.D. students working with them. The current list of Junior Associates and their associated Affiliate PIs can be found here.
If you experience technical problems completing either of these forms please contact the LUSC Project Manager, George Beckett (george.beckett@ed.ac.uk), while any policy questions should be addressed to the LSST:UK Consortium Board Chair, Tim Naylor (timn@astro.ex.ac.uk).
