DRAFT dated 2016-11-16 for consideration by Exec Group prior to release in Home space accompanied by email to LUSC-SWG list.
Topics for Exec Group to discuss:
- Does intro text capture balance of issues on UK/international focus?
- Are financial guidelines right?
- Do we want to go with the same Dec 20th deadline? - it's simple, but, in practice, we won't look at applications before the New Year, will we, so we could go with a later date.
- What do we want on the application form? Initial suggestions are as follows:
- Contact details of proposer
- Rough date(s) for workshop and justification (e.g. where that fits in with other meetings, or development of Science Collaboration roadmaps, etc)
- Expected size and composition of audience
- Anticipated outcomes from workshop
- Planned involvement of leadership from relevant Science Collaboration
- Estimated costs
Enhancing UK engagement with LSST Science Collaborations
...
- Aim to increase the engagement of UK researchers with the relevant LSST Science Collaboration;
- Share information from/with the relevant SC – e.g. through the participation (remote or in person) by leaders of that SC; and
- Be advertised (e.g. through an email to the LUSC-ANNOUNNCE list) to researchers in all LSST:UK Consortium institutions.
...
The deadline for applications for the LSSTC call is Monday, December 19, 2016 by midnight (2400 hours) PST - i.e. 08.00 GMT on Tuesday, December 20th - so we shall use the same deadline for applications for LSST:UK funding. LSSTC and applications should be emailed in PDF format, as described in the the LSSTC call.
For simplicity, applications for LSST:UK financial support should also be made by 08.00 GMT on Tuesday, December 20th. They should be made using the application form <here>.
